. and amber lee is going to show us why the morning commute is going to be a mess but we begin with jana katsuyama with where the heaviest rain has been falling so far. >> reporter: it's been a downpour here. crews have been here trying to clear out the leaves and the debris from low lying areas and we are on third street where you can see the road dips down. that's the area where police are concerned about. they're expecting for a lot of rain to fill this area. water has already saturated the ground and more rain keeps falling. >> during intense rainfalls it rises rapidly. >> reporter: fire officials say people should be weary of streams and rivers as well as pooling water and flooding. >> if you find standing water and you cannot tell how deep it is do not drive through it. it doesn't take a lot of water to either move a vehicle or float a vehicle. >> reporter: tonight just a small pile of sand remains at the municipal yard. trash cans strategically marked and placed around the move to catch any leaks from heavy rain. in heelsburg rain fell on the russian river where rain is expected

a home in a neighborhood of million dollars homes. amber lee is live now to tell us what happened. >> reporter: investigators are still on scene making sure there are no flair ups. the fire started here and spread next door. the fire broke out around 7:00 tonight on firmwood. neighbors told me dinner was interrupted by the smell of fire. they initially thought it was someone's fireplace that is until they looked outside. >> this house was on fire like i've never seen before. it was the most frightening thing i had ever seen. it was unbelievable how hot and bright it was. i could feel the intensity on my face. it was out of control. >> reporter: fire crews said when they arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames. the assistant fire chief tells us the house was unoccupied and currently under construction. making it hard for firefighters to go in. >> to protect our members, there were no people, only property, we fought it from outside to protect our people. >> reporter: neighbors tell us they suspect roofers caused the fire. >> they were working on the roof, they were using a bi

't even know he was missing. amber lee tells us how police found this little boy. >> reporter: police tell us they used every resource available to find this little 11-year-old boy. he was found near palocita school at 11:00 p.m.. we went to the home of the boy. while we were speaking to the family, police called to tell us that the boy had been found and that they were trying to locate the father. when we told police we were with the family they asked us to let us know he was safe. >> police just found him. >> really. >> they just found him and they are going to call you any minute now. >> hello. >> mr. ren handed the phone to his stepson when detectives called because he doesn't speak english. >> hi, hi. okay where? >> reporter: in mandarin, the father thanks police. the boy's stepbrother says he is relieved. >> very happy right now. >> we caught up with father and son after they were reunited with each other. >> how are you doing? >> good. >> where did you go? >> to my friend's house. >> reporter: ren told us that he went to a different friend's home. and that he didn't want to call his

that police were looking for a hit-and-run driver. the cyclist told us he suffered a major concussion. he also lost his bike, which he says was stuck to the front of the vehicle. the damaged bike was later found. police say the woman apologized, but is being charged with felony hit-and- run. her name still hasn't been released. >>> more problems tonight for toyota. the company is recalling hundreds of thousands of prius hybrids. many prius owners are just now hearing about this recall. >> reporter: frank, many toyota customers told us they bought a prius because of its gas mileage and dependability. tonight, school teacher marian mark drove her 2007 prius to the downtown toyota of oakland dealership to get her tires checked. she told us she wasn't aware of the latest recall. >> if there's a recall, i'm glad they're being honest and hoping to fix it. >> reporter: toyota is voluntarily recalling 600,000 priuses in the u.s. the 2004 through 2009 models. the problem is a potentially defective steering wheel. of the same cars, 300,000 may also have a faulty water pump that may cause the prius to st

watching the returns tonight have all joined him on the stage. now he told us earlier in the day that he had only written one speech when he came into boston on his campaign plane this afternoon and that was a victory speech. obviously he did not give that speech to be the. a very disappointed mitt romney. this is his second run for the white house. and as we told you earlier this evening, his father george romney, when he was secretary of hud and i worked on capitol hill in the early 70s he made a run for the white house in 1968 when he was governor of michigan. mitt romney always says he wish he could fulfill his father's dream and for him to be elected president. but we've seen tonight obviously that has not happened. mitt romney has made it clear that he will not run for president again as i said this is his second run for the presidency. but he says he will remain in politics. he will be a strong political voice in this country. now some of his supporters here as you see are already beginning to leave. some told me this evening after it was projected that mitt romney had lost that t
